eTwinning is a European action through which schools from different European countries, using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) tools, work together to achieve pedagogical, social and cultural benefits. The eTwinning action gives schools the opportunity to learn together, share their views and create new friendships.
It offers a platform for staff (teachers, principals, librarians, etc.) working in a school, in one of the participating European countries, to communicate, collaborate, conduct projects with their students , to share and, in short, to feel and be part of Europe's most exciting learning community.
Launched in 2005 as the flagship action of the European Commission's eLearning Programme, eTwinning has been firmly integrated into Erasmus+, the European program for education, training, youth and sport, since 2014.
In 2022, the European Commission's School Education Gateway and eTwinning platforms merged into the European school education platform https://school-education.ec.europa.eu, keeping their content and expanding it into a single, modern and accessible space.
